Shortly after arrival in the "backyard boatyard," Bedford, Texas. Note the very homemade, very funky trailer. It was the first casualty of the restoration, one of the wheels having disintegrated on the way home. When I discovered the boat, it was sitting in someone's backyard along on my way to work. I'd probably driven by it a couple of hundred times before deciding I wanted a very simple powerboat. One that looked like....like...like that one I saw every day. So I started looking. I also mentioned it to a friend of mine at work, who, happening to spot the boat one day and deciding it was the one I had been talking about, stopped, knocked on the fellows door, and got his phone number. So I called him up, and bought the boat.
